Urban Missions

Request More Information

You do not have to travel far in North America to see cities filled with people struggling. Poverty, racism and systemic inequity plague many who are seeking practical answers and real hope.

Urban missions - sharing God’s vision with those whom the world seems to have forgotten - is no abstraction at Harding University Graduate School of Religion. As an urban center, students have the opportunity to leave our tranquil campus and boldly proclaim Good News to those for whom news is rarely good.

Apprenticeships abound in the “Urban Missions Laboratory” of Memphis, with five young churches planted in some of the poorest neighborhoods. Students at the Graduate School focusing on urban missions typically choose the Master of Divinity program with a concentration in Urban Ministry, but the M.A. in Christian Ministry is also available in a campus-based or distance program.
