| SUPPORT: ASSOCIATED WOMEN FOR HARDING |
Give a BlessingAssociated Women for Harding (AWH), organized in 1965, functions as a Christian service organization. Most members join a local chapter that meets on a regular basis, engaging in projects specific to their area, to benefit Harding University. Chapters may also work together on larger projects. Regional and national meetings let members meet with women from all parts of the country who share a common goal: helping Harding University in her attempt to integrate faith, learning and living through Christian education. The Memphis chapter of AWH focuses on helping the Harding University Graduate School of Religion, located at 1000 Cherry Road. The Graduate School, an integral part of the University, presents special opportunities for service, as well as special blessings for those who become involved in fulfilling the mission of this time-tested institution. AWH allows women to use their God-given talents and energies in focused ways. Meetings provide special times to come together for more than just a planning session. Members exchange ideas, make new friends and enjoy fellowship. The common goal of AWH and the joy of working together let women participate in a special way to further Harding’s goals. All of the Associated Women for Harding activities spring from the group’s fundamental goal to assist Harding University. Holding membership in AWH makes one an ambassador for the university, as each member shares her impressions of Harding, introduces young people to the university and actively serves to spread the influence of Christian education in the modern world.
